On November 29, 2016, the City of Toronto, along with its consultant team led by FGMDA Architects with MMM Group and ASI Inc., held a community consultation meeting to discuss the West Queen West Heritage Conservation District Study.
Findings from the built form & character analysis and heritage evaluation as well as the draft recommendations of the West Queen West HCD Study were presented, followed by a facilitated discussion and activity.
We received great feedback at the meeting and are inviting further community feedback. The deadline for feedback has been extended to December 20th, 2016.

City staff recommendations to designate the Garden District HCD will be considered by the Toronto Preservation Board, Toronto and East York Community Council (TEYCC) and Toronto City Council.

This Community Consultation meeting will present the findings from the built form & character analysis and heritage evaluation as well as the draft recommendations of the West Queen West HCD Study. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion and activity.

On October 26, 2016, the West Queen West HCD Working Group met at the Trinity Recreation Community Centre for its second meeting. The evening was chaired by facilitator, Sabrina Colletti (MMM Group) with material presented by heritage consultant, Dima Cook (FGMDA Architects).

At the November 2, 2016 meeting of the Toronto Preservation Board, Heritage Preservation Services staff provided an update on two proposed Heritage Conservation District plans, King-Spadina and the Garden District, recently released for public review and comment. The presentation provided highlights of the draft HCD Plans including the district characteristics, geographic boundaries, statement of objectives and policies and guidelines.
